Program Description

Hotel pick-up. Along the way, one can observe modern buildings and a vibrant capital city, combined with a nostalgic atmosphere, traditional houses, and taverns nestled along the winding streets of the old town. A visit will be made to the 17th-century St. John's Cathedral, featuring fantastic frescoes that are sure to leave a lasting impression. Right next to it stands the Archbishop's Palace, a two-story stone building in the Neo-Byzantine style, housing the archdiocese offices and the archbishop’s residence. The walk continues through the narrow streets of Laiki Gitonia – a traditional neighborhood within the old city walls. Free time will be given in the old town, where a variety of shops, cafés, taverns, and historical landmarks can be explored. There will be an opportunity to visit the observatory on the 11th floor of one of the tallest buildings in Nicosia. History enthusiasts may choose to visit the Nicosia Museum. Alternatively, lunch can be enjoyed at one of the many restaurants offering local or international cuisine. Return to the hotels.
