The tour starts with the morning pick ups from hotels or designated meeting points. Then a walk of approximately 12 km along one of the oldest levadas on the island, located in the village of Ribeiro Frio. Along the route: the ancient Laurisilva laurel forest with endemic vegetation, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; unforgettable views of the northeastern part of the island, including the famous Eagle Rock – Penha d’Aguia – and the picturesque village of Porto da Cruz, situated right on the ocean. During the walk, you will pass through hand-carved rock tunnels. After the hike, enjoy a traditional Madeiran beef skewer – espetada. Return to hotels and meeting points in the afternoon.
