Program Description

The tour begins with hotel pickups, followed by a guided-pilot drive to the Ubar archaeological site - known as the Lost City of Ubar or “Atlantis of the Sands.” This legendary settlement, located near Salalah, once mysteriously disappeared into the desert, leaving behind only echoes of its ancient past. Upon arrival at the Empty Quarter Eco Lodge camp located in the picturesque Dhofar region, where the desert merges with the mountains and coast, check in and have free time to swim in the mineral-rich natural pools of Borkan whose water has been a natural remedy for centuries, attracting locals and tourists alike. They are believed to have healing properties and offer therapeutic benefits for the skin, muscles and overall well-being. and relax in a Jacuzzi with sulfuric spring water. Afterwards, it is planned to watch the sunset from the top of the dunes while enjoying snacks and drinks. After sunset there will be a traditional Bedouin dinner by the fireplace. Overnight at the camp. In the morning, after breakfast, there is a check-out from the camp and a drive back to Salalah. Next on the agenda is a visit to Wadi Dawkah, a site that provides important habitat for Boswellia sacra, a species of frankincense tree in the Burseraceae family. The tree is known for producing the highest quality incense. Visitors from all over the world flock to Salalah to see these remarkable trees, and a dedicated viewing gallery in Wadi Dawkah allows them to enjoy the stunning scenery of the valley.
