This tour will begin with a journey from the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean to the calm waters of the Caribbean. Once we turn off the main road between Panama City and Colón and head towards Portobelo, we will enter a green landscape with steep hills where "peasants" ride their horses and tend their livestock. Portobelo is a quiet coastal town full of colonial history where you will feel transported back in time. Here, you will find no less than 5 colonial fortifications where cannons still point their mouths towards the bay they once protected. Portobelo is also home to the statue of the Black Christ, which according to legend possesses divine powers, which has prevented the statue from being removed from here several times. Other monuments of interest are the Customs House (accounting house) built in 1640 and the Hospital Chapel built in 1597.
Chosen excursion available subject to minimal number of participants. The tour is organized with a private transportation.
