Explore the three essential islands of the Andaman Sea: Koh Phi Phi Don, the epicenter of the archipelago, Koh Phi Phi Ley, filming location of the film "The Beach", and Bamboo Island. Dive into the crystal clear waters of Loh Samah and Pileh bays, where you can swim and snorkel. The Phi-Phi Islands are part of a national park located at the southern end of the Phang-nga Bay chain, 34km southeast of Phuket. A complete itinerary for a day in Phi Phi where you will be amazed by its legendary landscapes.
Stopover at the must-see Maya Bay
After a drive of around an hour, you arrive at your first destination: Maya Bay. This is the magnificent beach that gained fame with the film “The Beach”. The crystal-clear water seems to be trapped by the rocky peaks, forming an arc. It is reputed to be one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world!
Discover the wonders of Phi Phi Ley
Then head for Pi-Leh Bay, a shallow cove of breathtaking colors: dazzling turquoise, immaculate white sand and the lush green of the vegetation that surrounds the bay. Stop off at Viking Cave, where swallows’ nests are harvested, a delicacy highly prized by the Chinese community. Finally, discover the unique spectacle of the Monkey Beach monkeys, living on the island’s cliffs. Depending on the tide, you may even be able to get close to them.
Snorkeling and lunch on Phi Phi Don
Before heading off to the main island of Phi Phi Don, renowned for its diving sites, enjoy a snorkeling session off the island to explore the seabed. Enjoy an exquisite meal in a beachside restaurant, then use your lunchtime to stroll around the pedestrian island. Explore its lively lanes lined with small shops, or head to the island’s other beach for a stroll in the shade of the vegetation.
Farniente on Bamboo Island
To round off this memorable day, head for Bamboo Island, a protected reserve where you can enjoy the beach and snorkel freely, surrounded by a multitude of fish in the turquoise waters. You can also relax and admire the view of Koh Phi Phi in this idyllic setting. Return to the pier between 4 and 5 pm.
