Jozani National Park & Swimming with Turtles

Discover two completely different sides of Zanzibar’s nature in one excursion: pristine rainforest and crystal-blue lagoon. 

The journey begins with a hotel pick-up. The first stop is Jozani National Park, the last remnant of the island’s original rainforest. 

During a guided walk, you’ll learn about the unique local flora and fauna. Across more than 50 km² of palm trees, fig trees, and mahogany, you may spot rare species of butterflies and birds. The highlight, however, is the red colobus monkey - an endemic species with a long, fluffy tail. These curious, agile creatures are often seen leaping from branch to branch right above visitors’ heads. 

From the forest, the trip continues to a nearby lagoon where sea turtles live. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll have time to swim with the turtles in the turquoise waters of the cave. It’s both a fascinating experience and a moment of pure relaxation in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. 

The excursion ends with a transfer back to your hotel.
