Fayoum Adventure Jeep Safari

The Fayoum region is one of Egypt’s most remarkable destinations, where vast desert dunes meet lakes and traces of a prehistoric world can still be discovered among dramatic landscapes. This excursion combines an exciting jeep safari, extraordinary natural attractions and the opportunity to explore one of Egypt’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Upon arrival in the Al Fayoum region, there will be a short break overlooking the lake. The adventure then begins with an exhilarating 4x4 jeep safari across the desert dunes. Along the route, there will be a stop for sandboarding, offering the chance to glide down the sandy slopes while taking in the spectacular desert scenery.

The next highlight is the famous Valley of the Whales (Wadi Al Hitan), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This unique palaeontological area is home to fossilised remains of prehistoric whales dating back millions of years. During a guided walk, you will explore the open-air fossil museum and visit the Fossils and Climate Change Museum, which presents the geological history of the region. Light snacks will also be provided during the visit.

The tour continues to a panoramic viewpoint located on top of a mountain, offering breathtaking views over the desert, lakes and dunes of the Fayoum region. Another stop is the famous Magic Lake, known for its remarkable colours that change throughout the day depending on the sunlight. It is one of the most photogenic locations in the oasis.

The programme also includes a visit to a lagoon, where there will be time for swimming and a relaxing tea break surrounded by beautiful desert landscapes. You will also stop at the famous Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls, one of the region’s most impressive natural attractions and among the few natural waterfalls in Egypt.

After a day full of discoveries and adventure, lunch will be served at Ras Helal Camp, located by the lake. The excursion concludes with a visit to a traditional pottery workshop, where you will learn about local handcrafted ceramics and have time to browse and purchase locally made products.
