Program Description
Siwa Oasis is one of the most extraordinary places in Egypt - a destination filled with desert landscapes, natural lakes and traces of ancient civilisations. This tour offers the chance to discover a completely different side of Egypt, far from crowded resorts and popular tourist routes. Expect breathtaking desert scenery, relaxing natural waters and fascinating history hidden among palm groves and sand dunes.
Your journey begins with a transfer to Siwa Oasis, located near the Libyan border. Upon arrival, there will be a short stop at a hotel, where you will have time to refresh and prepare for the adventure ahead. Afterwards, you will continue the tour in 4x4 safari jeeps to explore the region’s most remarkable attractions.
The first stop will be the ancient Roman cemeteries of Siwa, a reminder of the rich history of this isolated oasis. You will then head towards Egypt’s southwestern border while admiring the dramatic desert landscapes along the way. The tour continues to Dakrur Mountain and the picturesque Siwa Lake with Fatnas Island. This is the perfect place to relax, take photos and enjoy tea while surrounded by palm trees and peaceful lake views. You will also visit the famous Salt Lakes, known for their incredible turquoise waters. There will be an opportunity for a short swim and the unique experience of floating effortlessly in the mineral-rich water. Another highlight is the legendary Cleopatra’s Eye, also known as Cleopatra’s Bath. According to local legends, Queen Cleopatra herself once bathed in this natural spring, which remains one of Siwa’s most iconic attractions. The programme also includes a visit to the ancient Temple of Amun, closely linked to the story of Alexander the Great, who is believed to have travelled here to consult the famous oracle.
After lunch and some time to refresh, you will head to the centre of Siwa to explore the historic Shali Citadel, a former mud-brick fortress overlooking the oasis. There will also be free time for shopping and discovering local handicrafts and traditional products in certified shops.
The order of sightseeing and the programme may be subject to change.

Reviews
Visiting Siwa in a jeep was a truly exceptional experience for us. We were picked up early in the morning, around five o`clock, and the journey was approximately four hours. During it, we only had one stop at a gas station, which unfortunately was not pleasant at all - the environment was dirty, smelly, and yet they demanded a fee for using the toilet. This moment was definitely the weakest point of the entire trip. After arriving in Siwa, we arrived at the hotel, where we could change into our swimsuits, put away the things we didn`t need, and prepare for the adventure in the jeep itself. The driver seemed very professional, he had the ride fully under control, and we felt safe the whole time. For me personally, the ride was relaxing and enjoyable. The delegate told us stories in beautiful Czech during the trip and shared many interesting facts about the local history, culture, and life in the oasis with us. Thanks to the fact that we were the only ones in the jeep, we had the space to ask everything we were interested in, and we received really comprehensive answers. During the trip, we stopped at several places. The first stop was at the Bedouins, where they treated us to tea, fruit, nuts and dates – the atmosphere was very authentic and pleasant. Then we visited the Temple of Amun, which has a fascinating history and is truly magical. The next stop was the salt lake, where we could swim; the water was pleasant and the experience was unique. The last stop was Cleopatra`s Baths. I personally didn`t swim – the water didn`t seem completely clean to me and the access was quite dangerous, the stairs were slippery and there was nothing to hold on to. We could buy drinks here; the cold drinks were delicious, but the coffee was unfortunately not worth it. After returning, we went back to the hotel, where we could shower, change and have lunch. Fortunately, it was very good and pleasantly refreshed us after the whole day. Finally, we moved on to the local markets. The delegate directed us to the merchants they had an agreement with, so we had the opportunity to shop cheaper and at the same time avoid the exorbitant prices that often appear in the markets. Overall, the trip to Siwa was really nice. We saw beautiful places, learned a lot of interesting things and experienced an atmosphere that you can`t find anywhere else. Thank you - with best regards, Pavel and Elisabeth.
The overall impression was nice, but I was a bit disappointed with Cleopatra`s Spring. The salt lake, however, was great. Our guide, Ahmed, was very kind and friendly.
